Hi there!

 

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! My name is Josie and I am the founder and head photographer of The Tennessee Artist.

I am an interior designer and co-owner of airbnb's around the Nashville area, and a photographer because I love telling stories through visual art. 

​

Becoming a mother at age 19, along with adoption being woven into my story, lit a fire inside of me to take my career and their future's seriously. I have a natural eye for art. Leave me at an easel, with a camera, sitting at the piano, or in a fixer upper, and I can easily find beauty in it.

I grew up with seven siblings and two irreplaceable parents. I don't take this gift fore granted - it gave me the ability to thrive in that beautiful chaos, adapt quickly, find the calm in unpredictability, and operate well in spontaneous, unplanned situations! Weddings are full of these moments and I am here to capture these lifetime memories - not just the posed shots, but the candid in-between moments where real movement and memories are made.
